PONTIAC, MI – On Sunday July 21st, 2019, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Hawthorne Park, located at 1400 N. Telegraph Rd on the report of an indecent exposure.
At 1:46PM, deputies were advised that the person responsible, a 66-year-old man, of Pontiac, had exposed himself to some children and when he was confronted by the complainant, he pulled a knife on them as they attempted to follow him.
Upon their arrival, deputies located the suspect and took him into custody. Deputies spoke with a witnesses who indicated that children, ranging in age from 9 to 15 years old, playing inside the park had observed the male suspect masturbating and had notified their parents. The parents of the children observed the man pulling up his pants and then confronted him. The suspect pulled a knife on them and threatened to kill them as he attempted to walk away.
The suspect was arrested for Indecent Exposure and Assault , he was transported to the Pontiac Substation to speak with Detectives. Deputies found a knife concealed on his person that matched the description of the one described by the victims of the assault. The suspect was lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending the issuance of criminal charges.
