DETROIT, MI – Louis L. Davis, III, 36-years-old, of Lincoln Park, has been formally charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Antwan Esters-Douthet, 28-years-old, and the non-fatal shooting of a four-year-old boy.
On June 21st, 2019 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to the 9900 block of Whitcomb Street in response to a shooting. Upon arrival, the officers discovered medics at the scene who transported the four-year-old boy to a local hospital for treatment. They also found the victim, Antwan Esters-Douthet, nearby, suffering from gunshot wounds. Other medics arrived at the scene and transported him to a local hospital for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries. An investigation by Detroit Police led to the apprehension of Louis Davis.
It is alleged that an argument between Davis and Douthet escalated into a fatal shooting. Facts and evidence of the case will be presented at the Preliminary Examination.
Louis Davis has been charged with First Degree Murder, Assault with Intent to Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and three counts of Felony Firearm. He was arraigned in 36th District Court on earlier this week, His Probable Cause Conference will be held on August 20, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. before Judge Michael Wagner.
