MUSKEGON, MI – A 48-year-old man was killed Sunday evening in a single vehicle crash when he lost control of his motorcycle in Muskegon.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Rockford Post are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday August 11th, 2019, at approximately 10:13PM, at the intersection of Shoreline Drive and Western Avenue, in the City of Muskegon.
The preliminary investigation indicated that David Lee Taylor, Jr., 48-years-old, from Norton Shores, was traveling northeast on Shoreline Drive when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a curb. The motorcycle became airborne, throwing him from the vehicle. David Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.
David “Davie” Taylor was a manager at Classy Chassy Autos and was originally from Royal Oak.
The State Police were assisted on scene by the Muskegon Police Department and Reliable Towing.
The investigation is ongoing.

David Lee Taylor, Jr., age 48, of Muskegon, left for his heavenly home on Sunday, August 11, 2019.
He was born on October 23, 1970 to David Sr. and Susan Taylor in Royal Oak, MI. Dave worked as a sales manager at Classy Chassy in North Muskegon for over 7 years. He was a natural born salesman who loved his job and everyone he worked with. Dave was a heartfelt person and a sentimental man; he would always take the time to express his feelings to the ones he loved. He was fast to make a friend of everyone he met. Dave was a longtime supporter of the Make A Difference Ministry in Muskegon. He was a true motorcycle rider at heart and loved being out on the road. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to so many.
Dave is survived by his wife, Lynda Taylor; sons, Evan (Erin Lancour), Brendan Preihs, Reece Turnage, Jackson Turnage; parents, David Sr. and Susan Taylor; sister, Becky (David) Conroy; siblings-in-law, Steve (Randa) Preihs, Rachel Preihs, Jason (Ray) Dobb, Jared Dobb; nieces and nephews, Kelsey (Hunter Capogrossa) Taylor, Saje Preihs, Rylee Onstott, Carson Conroy, Jayden Onstott, Greyson Onstott, Sawyer Preihs; mothers-in-law, JoAnne Preihs, Joanne Dobb; best friends, Jamie Mathy, Tammy Breece, Bill and Stacy Smith; and faithful companion, Tiko. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father-in-law, Greg Preihs.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Dave will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Chip Hackney officiating.
