Quadruple Shooting Suspect Charged with 21 Felony Counts

DETROIT, MI – A 24-year-old man was arrested and is now formally charged with 21 felony counts for his alleged involvement in a quadruple shooting incident.

A suspect was taken into custody in connection to a quadruple shooting incident that took place on the city’s westside.

The incident occurred on August 6th, 2019, at approximately 8:50 p.m., in the area of W. 7 Mile and Oakfield. It was originally reported that four victims were shot by an unknown suspect. Through further investigation, it was determined that one of the victims was the actual the suspect.

The suspect allegedly approached the group of men as they were playing dice in the area, produced a weapon and fired shots, striking three victims. In return, one of the victims, a CPL holder, produced his firearm and fired, striking the suspect.

After the shooting, the suspect fled and was privately conveyed to a local hospital. The three victims were also separately conveyed to local hospitals. All four were listed in Temp Serious condition.
The suspect was identified as 24-year old Deshawn Combs, who was taken into custody at the local hospital on Thursday, August 8 at approximately 9:00 a.m.

A warrant packet was submitted to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office for review and approval. The suspect was arraigned in Romulus on Saturday, August 10th, and remanded to jail without bond.

He was charged with four counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, four counts Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, one charge of carrying concealed weapon, one count of Carrying with Unlawful Intent, one count of Weapon Possession by Felon, and 10 counts of Weapons Felony Firearm. Next court date is Tuesday, August 20.
