HOLLAND, MI – A 60-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after her vehicle was broadsided by an 18-year-old young man.
On August 17th, 2019, at 3:55PM, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the intersection of Butternut Dr and 144th Ave in Holland Township on a personal injury traffic crash.
The investigation determined that the intersection is a 4 way stop. The 60-year-old driver of a Mercury Sable was southbound on 144th Ave. She stopped at the stop sign before continuing southbound on 144th Ave.
An 18-year-old driver of a Ford F150 was northbound on Butternut Dr. He failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the Mercury Sable in the drivers side door. The 60-year-old female driver of the Mercury Sable was pinned in her vehicle for 30 minutes. She was extricated by Holland Township Fire and Rescue. She was then transported to Spectrum by Aero Med Helicopter in critical condition.
The 18-year-old driver and his 14-year-old passenger were not injured.
The intersection was closed for an hour and a half while the scene was being investigated.
Responding to the scene were Holland Township Fire Rescue, AMR, Aero Med and the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
