Body of 24 yr old Woman Discovered in Hines Park

WESTLAND, MI – Westland Police are currently in Hines Park were the body of a 24-year-old Westland woman was discovered earlier this afternoon.

Authorities have just confirmed that this is a homicide that they are investigating. The woman’s body was found partially submerged in the Rouge River. The investigation is ongoing in the Ann Arbor Trail and Middlebelt area.

A suspect is in custody and there is no immediate threat to the community.

The Westland Police Department, Westland Fire Department, Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies and the Wayne County Dive Team are all involved with the investigation.
