Officer Involved Shooting in Harrison Township

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, MI – On Monday August 26th, 2019, at approximately 9:45am, Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to area of N. Pointe Pkwy and 16 Mile for multiple calls of shots fired. Upon arrival, several vehicles were seen fleeing the area.

One of the callers indicated that several of the individuals fleeing the area had police type vests on and fled in blacked out dark colored chargers. Deputies made contact with these persons and identified them as Detroit – Wayne County Violent Crimes Reduction Task Force officers. It is believed that officers were attempting to pick up a subject on a warrant in that area and several shots were fired. There are no known victims at this time.

Task force officers were attempting to pick up Clint Washington Jr, a black man, 32-years-old, out of Harrison Township. Washington fled in a silver Toyota Camry with a Georgia license plate westbound on I-94. He is described as 5’11’, 165lbs, black hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans. Washington has several warrants for his arrest including a felony warrant out of the Detroit Police Department.
