Parole Absconder Arrested after Raping and Attempting to Drown Girlfriend Hillsdale County

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, MI – A woman is recovering today after her boyfriend allegedly raped her and then tried to drown her on Tuesday.jail

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Jackson Post investigated an assault in Jefferson Township on August 27, 2019. The victim’s boyfriend, a known parole absconder, allegedly raped and attempted to drown her near Baw Beese Lake.

The parole absconder was located later in the evening where he was found hiding in a bean field in Jefferson Township by a Michigan State Police helicopter and canine unit. The suspect was lodged in the Hillsdale County Jail on a parole absconder detainer with additional charges pending.

Troopers were assisted by the Department of Natural Resources and Michigan Department of Corrections Absconder Recovery Unit.
