Man Shot and Killed in Apparent Road Rage Incident in Inkster

INKSTER, MI – Michigan State Police (MSP) Special Investigation Section detectives were called to the 26600 block of Lehigh for a homicide that was the result of an apparent road rage incident on Saturday afternoon, August 31st, 2019.police-raid 800x533

The initial investigation began at about 3:30PM. It revealed that a 54-year-old man, from Inkster, was the driver in a vehicle and was involved in an argument of some sort with the driver in another vehicle.

During the confrontation the male suspect fired a least one shot striking the 54-year-old man in the head killing him.

The 54-year-old victim had a passenger who was not injured. That passenger put the car in reverse and was able to get themselves and the car out of further harms way.

Police believe that the suspect fled the area in a burgundy-colored Camry. The suspect is described as possibly wearing purple shorts, is a black male, approx 5’8”, 150lbs, with short hair. A witness stated that the shooter’s lower lip is discolored, has both pink and purple in it.

The investigation is continuing and pending witness interviews and scene investigation. The victim’s next of kin have been notified.

This does not appear to be a random incident. More information as it becomes available.
