Livonia Man Arrested after Following Girl Home from High School

LIVONIA, MI – Livonia Police have arrested David Roberts, 27-years-old, of Livonia, in connection to a Home Invasion that occurred in the 14000 block of Arcola on the afternoon of Monday September 9th, 2019.David Roberts

A high school aged student who had walked home from her bus stop was approached by David Roberts as she walked to her front door. Roberts is alleged to have followed her onto the porch, asked if her parents were home and then followed her into the house. Roberts was confronted by the girl’s father who was sitting in the living room.

Roberts fled the house and jumped over a nearby rear yard fence and went into hiding. He was pursued by the girl’s father, her brother and a neighbor who surrounded the area. The girl and her father called 911 and reported the incident and the suspect’s approximate location. Multiple Livonia Police Units immediately responded to the area and within minutes he was found in a nearby backyard where he resisted officers and was taken into custody.

On Tuesday September 10th, 2019, Roberts was arraigned in the 16th District Court on several charges including Breaking and Entering and Assaulting a Police Officer. His bond was set at $100,000/10% and he is scheduled to appear in the 16th District Court for a Probable Cause Conference on September 19, 2019.
