Man Found Shot to Death in Livingroom of Home in Detroit’s Westside

DETROIT, MI – A 49-year-old man was found shot to death in his living room on Detroit’s Westside at about 1:00AM Saturday morning.death_investigation

The home where Detroit Police located the victim on Saturday September 14th, 2019, is near Artesian & Belton.

At approximately 10:00PM on Friday evening, Detroit Police were dispatched to a call concerning a man who was sitting on a porch who was discharging gunfire into the neighborhood. Detroit Police cleared that incident and left the scene. There were no injuries reported at that time.

At approximately 1:00 AM on Saturday morning, Detroit Police and EMS were dispatched to the same address. This time they were responding to reports of a man with a gunshot wound in the living room of the home. When EMS arrived they found the victim unresponsive.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is currently unknown if the victim shot himself or if he was the subject of foul play.
