LAKE ORION, MI – A 29-year-old man was taken into custody on Sunday October 20th, 2019 after he strangled his mother, fought with and stabbed his uncle and then went back and stabbed his own mother to death.
At 12:26AM, Oakland County Sheriff Deputies responded to the 4500 block of Rohr Rd on a report of a stabbing that had just occurred. The victim indicated that he had been stabbed by his nephew.
Upon their arrival, Deputies located the 29-year-old suspect who was walking southbound on Rohr Rd. He appeared to have sustained a laceration to the neck and a severe laceration to his hand. The suspect was incoherent and was sobbing.
Paramedics from Star EMS arrived on scene and rendered medical attention. Deputies responded to the residence where the incident occurred. Deputies located the 60-year-old man who had suffered a deep laceration to his shoulder. Deputies were advised that the nephew had physically attacked his 69-year-old mother.
When the victim heard the call for help from his sister, he went to see what was occurring. He found his nephew was strangling his sister, the suspects own mother. The uncle pulled his nephew from his sister. The nephew retrieved a knife from the kitchen and returned to confront his Uncle. The two continued to struggle and the Uncle was stabbed in the shoulder in the process. The Uncle retreated to call for help and awaited the Deputies arrive.
After arriving on scene, deputies entered the residence and found a woman lying face down in the living room. She was unconscious and bleeding profusely. Paramedics entered the residence and applied life-saving measures. The victim was transported to McLaren-Oakland Hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The suspect was identified and taken into custody without incident. Detectives responded to the scene to begin their investigation. The OCSO Forensic Science Lab responded to process the scene. The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office was notified of the death. The suspect was treated for his injuries and was subsequently lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending the issuance of criminal charges. Detectives are continuing with the investigation.
