DETROIT, MI – Marvin Dismuke, 33-years-old, of Detroit, has been charged in the death of a 52-year-old woman and her 20-year-old daughter, both of Detroit.
On October 28th, 2019, at 8:10 a.m., it is alleged that Marvin Dismuke was driving his truck at a high rate of speed on Greenfield Road at Grand River Avenue in Detroit when he disregarded a traffic signal and crashed into the passenger side of a car driven by a 52-year-old woman as she was making a left turn onto Grand River. As a result of the crash the woman and her 20-year-old daughter who was the front passenger were trapped inside of the car.
The Detroit Fire Department removed the two women from the car, and they were rushed to a local hospital where they were both pronounced dead upon arrival.
Marvin Dismuke had his three children in his vehicle at the time of the crash. They were all transported to Children’s Hospital for treatment. Dismuke’s three-year-old son suffered a broken femur.
Marvin Dismuke has been charged with two counts of Reckless Driving Causing Death and one count Reckless Driving Causing Serious Impairment of a Body Function. He will be arraigned today at 2:00 p.m. in 36th District Court.
