46 yr old Lansing Man Killed in Single Vehicle Crash in Ingham County

DELHI TOWNSHIP, MI – On Sunday November 11th, 2019, at approximately 3:43 am., Troopers from the Michigan State Police Lansing Post were dispatched to Waverly Road, north of Bishop Road concerning a single vehicle traffic crash.

The vehicle was headed northbound on Waverly Road when it left the roadway, struck a traffic sign and then rolled over several times.

The diver of the vehicle, James Lewis Thompson, 46-years-old, from Lansing, was ejected from the vehicle. He suffered fatal injuries. He died at the scene of the crash. The passenger in the vehicle, a 20-year-old man, from Lansing, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Sparrow Hospital for treatment.

Troopers are continuing their investigation to determine if seatbelts were used and if possibly alcohol or drugs were factors to the crash.

Troopers were assisted at the scene  by the Ingham County Sheriffs Department, Eaton County Sheriff’s Department, Delhi Township Fire/EMS, Windsor Township Fire/EMS and Lansing Fire Department.
