Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

DETROIT, MI – A male suspect wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred on the city’s west side surrendered to authorities on November 22, 2019.

On Saturday, November 16, 2019, at approximately 5:30 p.m., in the 2800 block of W. Grand Blvd. a man entered a local Project Green Light Detroit restaurant and ordered food. Shortly after ordering and eating the suspect approached the cashier and demanded money. The cashier complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of US currency. After taking the money the man fled the location on foot, heading east bound on W. Grand Blvd.

After broadcasting video and information concerning this incident on the news, the suspect recognized himself and surrendered to the Third Precinct Investigative Unit. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Detroit Detention Center for processing. A warrant package was submitted to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office for review and approval.

On November 25, 2019, the suspect, identified as Ramon Wilson, 40-year old, was arraigned for Armed Robbery. He received a $50,000 bond at 10%. His pretrial hearing is scheduled for December 2, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.
