Man Charged in Livonia Barricaded Gunman Incident [Video]

LIVONIA, MI – 43-year-old James Fernandes, of Livonia, has been charged in a multi-count felony warrant stemming from a barricaded gunman incident that occurred on November 26th, 2019 in the 16000 block of Blue Skies.

Fernandes faces two counts each of Assault With Intent to Murder, Assault With Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm, Assault With a Dangerous Weapon and four counts of Felony Firearm.

The Livonia man is alleged to have fired shots at a Court Officer who attempted to evict him from the residence on Tuesday morning. Livonia Police surrounded the house and negotiators were able to convince him to peacefully surrender after a brief standoff at the residence. No one was injured during this incident.

James Fernandes was arraigned in the 16th District Court on November 27, 2019 with bond being denied. He is scheduled to appear in the 16th District Court for a Probable Cause Conference at 9 a.m. on December 5, 2019.
