PONTIAC, MI – A 45-year-old Pontiac Woman is lucky to be alive today after she was shot in the face by her boyfriend on January 15th, 2020.
On Wednesday evening, at about 8:52PM, Oakland County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Crystal Lake on the report of a woman who had been shot in the face. Upon arrival deputies located the victim who stated that she was assaulted by her boyfriend.
The woman stated that she and the 44-year-old suspect had been in a verbal argument at which point the suspect produced a pistol and pointed it at her face. The victim stated that she could not remember what happened next and that she thought she had been either shot or was hit with the pistol.
She told the responding officers that the suspect fled on foot from the residence with a backpack and two pistols. The victim had obvious trauma to her face and neck that appeared to be blunt force and not a gunshot wound. When STAR EMS arrived on scene, they agreed that her wounds did not appear to be the result of a gunshot.
Deputies canvassed the area for the suspect and located him at the intersection of Franklin Blvd. and Rapid St. The suspect was not in possession of the backpack that the victim stated that he had left with. A K9 responded to the scene and conducted an article search. A backpack with two pistols inside was located in a lot between the scene of the crime and where the suspect had been located.
The wounded woman was transported to St. Joseph’s Oakland where she was listed in stable condition. The suspect was lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending the issuance of charges. The pistols were tagged as evidence and placed into property. The investigation is ongoing.
