EASTPOINTE, MI – On January 16th, 2020, at 3:45pm, Eastpointe officers responded to a 9-1-1 call of an armed robbery that had just happened on Normandy near Ash.
It was reported that the perpetrator was armed with a handgun and had stolen a jacket and shoes from one of the victims. Officers interviewed the two 15-year-old victims who recognized the perpetrator as an individual featured on the Eastpointe Police Departments Facebook page last summer. The perpetrator was described as having a large tattoo on his neck.
Detectives reviewed surveillance videos from the area and identified the suspect. On January 17th, 2020, about 22 hours after the robbery, detectives executed a search warrant in the 22000 block of Gascony. They recovered evidence and arrested Javuan Knott, 18-years-old, for the armed robbery.
Knott was charged with Armed Robbery, Felony Firearm, and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. He was arraigned in the 38th District Court and given a $500,000 cash or surety bond. He is in the Macomb County Jail pending his preliminary hearing.

Mr. Knott is accused of a crime. He is presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
