PONTIAC, MI – A 32-year-old Waterford Township woman was shot multiple times in the City of Pontiac by an unknown gunman.
At 11:40PM on Wednesday January 22nd, 2020, Oakland County Sheriff Deputies responded to the 10 block of N. Eastway Dr. on a report of shots fired and a subject who had been struck by gunfire.
The complainant contacted the Oakland County Communications Center to report that a woman had approached his home on foot who had appeared to be running from an unknown black man.
The complainant heard gunshots and then heard the woman moaning somewhere outside of his home. The complainant then observed the man flee the area in an unknown dark sedan that had been parked in the street 2 houses south of his residence.
Deputies arrived on scene and found a 32-year-old woman who appeared to have been shot several times. Deputies requested for Star EMS to respond to the scene but due to her critical condition deputies transported the victim by patrol vehicle to McLaren Hospital – Oakland.
Upon arriving at the hospital, the victim was pronounced Dead Upon Arrival by the attending physician.
Detectives and the OCSO Forensic Science Laboratory were contacted and responded to start their investigation. Detectives notified the victim’s mother. The incident remains under investigation.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the publics assistance. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at- 1800- SPEAK-UP where you will remain anonymous. There is up to $1,000 reward for information.
