WOODHAVEN, MI – The Grosse Isle school teacher charged in connection with the August 28th, 2019, alleged incident of indecent exposure at Commerce Park in Grosse Isle had a jury trial before Judge Noah Hood this week.
Yesterday Judge Hood dismissed the one count of Aggravated Indecent Exposure, and the jury found Christopher Metzger not guilty on the remaining count of Disorderly Person-Obscene Conduct.
He was charged after it was alleged that he was exposing himself and engaging in indecent behavior as children practiced sports in a nearby park. Authorities said Metzger was in his car at Commerce Park about 6:00 p.m. August 28th when a resident said he saw Metzger masturbating “inside his gym shorts while leaning back in the driver’s seat, and his eyes appeared to be closed.”
A week after the incident was reported to police, Grosse Ile Township Schools suspended Christopher Metzger and banned him from school property and events.
