Kalkaska Woman Charged with First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct with Person Under 13

KALKASKA, MI – The Michigan State Police (MSP) Houghton Lake Post was contacted on January 2nd, 2020 by Kalkaska Child Protective Services to investigate when a girl under 13-years-of-age was reporting that she was being sexually abused.

The investigation led to the arrest of 26-year-old Kaytelin Hazel-Keefer Carlson of Kalkaska. Carlson was arraigned in the 82-B District Court in Kalkaska. She was  arraigned on two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree with a person under the age of 13. If convicted on either of those two charges Kaytelin Carlson is facing up to life in prison or any term of years but not less than 25.

These are Tier III offences as outlined in the Sex Offender Registration Act. Carlson remains lodged in the Kalkaska County Jail on a $500,000 cash surety bond.
