Two Snowmobilers Arrested for OWI after Wrecking Sled on Railroad Property

OTSEGO COUNTY, MI – Troopers from the Michigan State Police  Gaylord Post arrested two snowmobilers for OWI and trespassing after one crashes on railroad property.

On Sunday February 2nd, 2020, at approximately 4:00a.m., troopers came across a snowmobile that had crashed causing a ski to become lodged under the railroad tracks in Bagley Township near N. Otsego Avenue.

Two snowmobile operators were arrested for OWI with additional charges of railroad trespassing and failing to report a snowmobile crash.

Troopers would like to remind the public that trespassing on railroad property is illegal and can be dangerous to deadly.

It took several hours for a wrecker company to free or dislodge the snowmobile from being jammed under the railroad track.

An inspection of the tracks will be completed by Lake State Railway for damages.
