Possible Suspect Arrested in Clarkston Rite Aid Armed Robbery

CLARKSTON, MI- Official word has not been released as of this time, however, a suspect is believed to be in custody for the armed robbery of the Clarkston Rite Aid Pharmacy on Sunday February 16th, 2020.

Sources are naming 21-year-old Matthew Christopher Brusen as the suspect.  Matthew Brusen was booked into the Oakland County Jail at 11:27 a.m. Monday morning.

A white male went into the business, selected an item to purchase, and went up to the register. When the clerk rang the suspect up, he handed her the money for the item. She went to give him change and he said, “I’ll take the money.” The suspect lifted his coat and showed a bulge under his coat indicating he was armed. He then stated, “It’s only money.” The clerk handed the money in the register to him. The suspect exited the store and as he was leaving he stated, “I am sorry I have to do this.”

Brusen has had his run-ins with the law previously.  In April of 2018, on Facebook, he is proud to display his release from probation.
