DETROIT, MI – Due to a driver shortage this morning, Tuesday, March 17th, 2020, riders are being asked to find a different way to get where they need to go. There will be no DDOT service today.
Due to the driver shortage, there will be no DDOT bus service today. They apologize for the inconvenience and will provide updates as they can.
The Detroit Department of Transportation wishes to let passengers know that due to a driver shortage this morning, fewer than 10% of DDOT buses were operating. They are asking passengers to seek other forms of transportation while they work to address drivers’ concerns.
WDIV is reporting that the drivers have concerns about the pandemic that are not being addressed. They are citing Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s order that disallows more than 50 people in a gathering at a time and the CDC’s recommendation that no more than 10 people gather at a time.
