Armed Suspect Confronts Sheriff’s Deputies in Ottawa County

GRAND HAVEN, MI – Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies were confronted by an armed suspect Thursday afternoon in Grand Haven.police-investigation

On Thursday March 19th, 2020, at 9:24PM, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Officers from the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety, were dispatched to an address in the 17900 block of Oak Hill Ct. in Grand Haven Township on a domestic violence incident.

When officers attempted contact with the occupants of the home a 50-year-old male subject pointed a weapon at responding officers through a window.. Officers backed away from the residence and set up a perimeter around the home and attempted to communicate with the suspect. A short time later the suspect exited the residence armed with several weapons and was again confronted by responding officers. During this interaction the suspect pointed a weapon at an officer but quickly ran away. The suspect was located by officers a short distance away and taken into custody without incident.

The suspect was lodged at the Ottawa County Jail on numerous charges related to this incident. This incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
