HOLLAND, MI – On Thursday, March 19th 2020, at 7:49PM, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Holland State Park on a report of what appeared to be a human body in the rocks along the north pier.

The body was located in a small 12 inch by 12 inch hole, pinned beneath the surface of the water by several large boulders. Members of the Sheriff’s Office Dive team with assistance from members of the Park Township Fire Department worked for several hours moving several large boulders before being able to recover the body.

The body has been taken to Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids where an autopsy will be performed. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

This incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
