LAPEER, MI – The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office received word late Wednesday that one of their deputies has tested positive for COVID-19.
The officer is doing well and is improving. The deputy was already on leave for an injury so there was no concern for contamination inside of the Sheriff’s Office and Jail.
The health department has contacted those who had contact with the deputy. Another officer had spend time with the person 12 days ago and is now in quarantine for the next two days to meet the 14 day period. The officer feels fine and shows no sign for being infected.
The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office thanks the incredible medical staff caring for the deputies. They are also thanking the health department and for everyone’s prayers and concerns.
