BREAKING NEWS: Dearborn Heights Murder Suspect in Custody

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI -The suspect in the murder of a 64-year-old Dearborn Heights woman is in custody.

Mohamad Ali Saad has been arrested. The suspect was taken into custody in Tennessee.

On April 18th, 2020, at approximately 10:00AM, the Dearborn Heights Police Department along with United States Marshals Service, the Wayne County Prosecutors Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol successfully located and took into custody 32-year-old Mohamad Ali Saad. He was taken into custody without resistance.

At about 8:00 p.m., on April 17th, 2020, Mohamad Ali Saad allegedly killed his mother in a very violent and brutal manner. Fatme Saad was killed by her son when he stabbed her to death Thursday evening in the family home in the 27000 block of Simone Street in Dearborn Heights. He then fled the scene in a family vehicle that was described as a sliver 2018 Jeep Cherokee Laredo.

Though not confirmed, it is believed that mental health concerns played a large factor in this horrible crime.
