DETROIT, MI – A 34-year-old Detroit man was formally charged today in connection with a fatal crash that killed two people and severely injured another.

Desean James Gee, 34-years-old, of Detroit, is the main suspect in the fatal car crash that killed Adrian Thomas Bascom, 40-years-old, and Jalen Kristopher Whitlock, 27-years-old, and injured a 14-year-old girl, all of Detroit.

On April 19th, 2020, at approximately 5:12 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a car crash at West Outer Drive and Lyndon Street.  Upon arrival, the officers found the defendant’s vehicle and another vehicle with the three victims inside.  Bystanders assisted in removing the rear-seat passenger before the victims’ vehicle became engulfed in flames.  The two victims trapped in the front seat of the vehicle perished and were pronounced dead at the scene.
