PONTIAC, MI – At 4:10 a.m. on Friday April 24th, 2020, Oakland County Sheriff Deputies responded to the Pontiac Substation on the report of a man who had called the Sheriff’s Operations Center and advised he had just killed his girlfriend.
Deputies located the caller who indicated he had shot his girlfriend and she could be found inside of a vehicle located in the 100 block of Osmun Street. Deputies located a .357 cal. revolver lying on the ground, adjacent to the suspect.
The 46-year-old man, of Pontiac, was taken into custody while additional Deputies responded to the area of the 100 block of Osmun Street to locate the vehicle.
Deputies located a red SUV which was found parked on the side of the street. Deputies found the passenger side door open and discovered a 43-year-old woman leaning outside of the door. She appeared to have suffered two gunshot wounds.
Deputies secured the scene and requested to have Detectives respond to the scene. Detectives responded to the scene to begin their investigation. The OCSO Forensic Science Lab responded to process and collect evidence from the scene.
The suspect was lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending the issuance of criminal charges. Detectives are continuing with the investigation. The victim and the suspect had been in a long-term relationship of 18 years.
