DETROIT, MI – One man and one woman are known to have been killed in the double fatal crash that occurred on St. Mary’s Street near Pembrooke and Murray Hill on Wednesday evening at about 11:15 p.m.

On Wednesday April 29th, 2020, a total of 5 people were injured when the driver of a speeding SUV lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle struck a tree then rolled over on its roof.

MI Headlines has learned that one of the surviving victims is in critical condition. It is unknown what the status is of the other two.

On April 29th, 2020, people can be seen in a video posted to Facebook that had been ejected from the vehicle. The SUV was upside down on the front lawn of a home on St. Mary’s street. The person recording the video can clearly be heard asking for rescue crews to “Get that baby ! Get that baby !!” It appears that a child was rushed from the scene by a waiting ambulance. First responders were performing CPR on the victim as they sped away.

What is known is that witnesses can be heard in the video stating that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash.
