DETROIT, MI – Lawrence Paul Mills, III 32-years-old, of Garden City, is being charged for the second time in a month for another murder that he allegedly committed in December of 2017.
Mills is being charged in connection with the death a 34-year old Detroit woman. On April 27th, 2020, Mills was previously charged with First Degree Murder in connection with the December 13th, 2017 death of a 59-year-old Detroit woman.
On October 16, 2017 at approximately 3:00 a.m., Detroit Police were dispatched to the area of Casper and Cypress Streets. The officers were met by medics already on the scene. The officers observed the victim’s lifeless body lying on the sidewalk on Cypress Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene. It was determined that she died from multiple injuries.
Investigation into the case by the Detroit Police Department spanned several years and led to the arrest of Lawrence Paul Mills, III on April 24, 2020. It is alleged he deliberately hit and killed the victim with his vehicle. Further details of the case will be presented in court at the Preliminary Examination.
Mills has been charged with First Degree Murder, Assault on a Pregnant Individual Causing Miscarriage/Stillbirth and Motor Vehicle Advisory.* He is expected to be arraigned tomorrow morning in 36th District Court.
