27 yr old Woman Killed when Vehicle Collides with Semi in Allegan County

SALEM TOWNSHIP, MI – On Tuesday May 12th, 2020, approximately 5:09 PM, deputies from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traffic crash on 30th St near 144th Ave in Salem Township. 

A 27-year-old female from the Byron Center area was traveling eastbound on 144th Ave when she failed to stop at the two way stop sign and collided with a northbound semi-tractor trailer, causing her Jeep to become lodged under the trailer. 

First responders on scene found that she was deceased due to the injuries sustained from the crash.  The driver of the semi-tractor trailer was did not receive any injuries.  The preliminary investigation revealed that disregarding the stop sign was the only factor in the crash.

The victim’s name is being withheld until family is notified.

The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Wayland EMS, Salem Fire Department, and the Michigan State Police.
