DETROIT, MI – Today, Tuesday May 19th, 2020, members of Detroit Police Department located and arrested a man wanted in connection with the fatal auto accident that claimed the life of two men on the city’s west side.
On April 26th, 2020, at approximately 11:49 a.m., in the area of Baylis and Pilgrim, the 22 year old suspect was traveling at a high rate of speed south on Baylis, in a gray 2017 Dodge Charger, when he disregarded a traffic signal and collided into a blue 2001 Pontiac Sunfire that was heading west on Pilgrim.
After the collision, the suspect exited his vehicle and fled. Medics responded to the scene and pronounced both victims, ages 26 and 33, dead upon arrival. The two victims were cousins. They were identified as that of Teon Williams and Leon Freeman
An investigation was immediately launched. Through investigative work and relentless follow up, investigators identified, located and arrested the suspect at a residence in the City of Taylor at approximately 11:00 a.m. this morning.
The suspect was transported to the Detroit Detention Center for processing without incident. A warrant package has been submitted to the Wayne County Prosecuting Office for review and approval. Charges are pending.
