DETROIT, MI – On Thursday May 21st, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a 23 year-old female suspect, and resident of Ohio was arrested in connection to a fatal accident that occurred in the 1300 block of Field St.
The suspect was traveling west on Agnes St. in a White 2019 Nissan Versa at a high rate of speed, when she disregarded a stop sign and collided into a 2010 Gold GMC Acadia, driven by a 44 year-old woman on Field St.
As a result of the collision, all occupants of the suspect vehicle were injured, with one of them being fatal. The suspect vehicle was occupied with 3 small children, and two other adults. The passengers were transported to a local hospital and were listed as follows.
A 29 year-old male, and 19- year-old female listed in temp serious condition, 2 year-old and 5 year-old females listed in critical condition, and a 2 year-old male who succumbed to his injuries.
The driver and passenger of the other vehicle a 44 year-old female, and a 45 year-old male were transported to the local hospital and listed in stable condition.
Allegedly, prior to the incident, the suspect fled from a previous accident that occurred at an unknown location, then subsequently collided into the GMC at Field St. The suspect was arrested and transported to a local hospital where she is listed in temp serious condition. A warrant packet will be prepared and submitted to the Wayne County Prosecutors Office for review. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated.
