2 Charged in the Shooting of Monroe Police Officer

MONROE, MI – On Sunday May 24th, 2020, a woman was assaulted during a violent carjacking by two suspects who were located and arrested after the incident. The incident took place near North Dixie Highway and I-75.

During the traffic stop of the two suspects, a Monroe Police Officer, Corporal Renae Peterson, was shot. The officer was taken to a hospital in Toledo where she is being treated for her injuries. She will survive her injuries after having to endure surgery.

Both suspects have been arraigned and have been identified as Kobe Ryan Falls, a 21-year-old man from the city of Monroe. He was arraigned on 13 felony counts. Bond was set at $750,000.

Kordney Antwoine Mcdonald, a 21-year-old from the city of Ypsilanti. He was arraigned on 17 felony counts including Assault with Intent to Murder. No bond given.
