67 yr old Man Killed in Manistee County Vehicle Crash

Manistee County Fatal Crash

NORMAN TOWNSHIP, MI – On Wednesday June 10th, 2020, at approximately 3:35 p.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Cadillac Post were called to a fatal traffic crash involving two vehicles on Caberfae Hwy (M-55) near Seaman Road.

The 67-year-old man, identified as Thomas Seivert, of Manistee, who was driving a Chey Cruze, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries that he sustained in the crash.

The other driver, a 60-year-old man from Clio, received minor injuries in the crash. He was taken to Munson of Manistee for treatment.

The preliminary investgation indicates that Thomas Seivert was traveling eastbound on Caberfae Hwy and the other driver was heading westbound. The two vehicles collided in a near head-on crash.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor to the crash. The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Norman Township Fire Department, North Flight EMS, and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
