DETROIT, MI – The transgender community of Detroit has once again been victimized with another shooting that found one man and two transgender women being shot at resulting in the two transgender women being injured.
On Sunday June 14th, 2020, at approximately 1:00a.m., in the 6400 block of Woodward, a 31-year old known male suspect, got into an argument with a 32-year old man, that resulted in the suspect producing a handgun and firing a shot at the victim.
As a result, two other individuals became victims during the shooting. A 20-year-old transgender woman & a 29-year old transgender woman, who were present at the time, were struck by the gunfire.
The 29-year old woman was privately conveyed to the hospital. Officers on the scene conveyed the 20-year-old woman. Both victims were listed in stable condition. The 32-year old man was not injured.
After the shooting, the suspect fled.
