Multiple Arrests made in Westland Homicide

WESTLAND, MI – Police in Westland have announced that they have made multiple arrests in the homicide of Robert Bigham.

After an intensive investigation, the Westland Police Department made multiple arrests in connection to a homicide that occurred in the area of Grand Traverse and Missaukee Court. The victim of the homicide, 17-year-old Robert Edward Bigham of Novi, was shot and killed while riding his bicycle on Sunday, June 7th, 2020, at approximately 8:55 P.M.

Westland Police were able to locate and arrest 18-year-old Duan Markeith Jones of Westland on Monday, June 8th. Duan Jones was arraigned on June 11th in the 18th District Court in front of the Honorable Judge Cicirelli. Jones was arraigned on charges of; homicide –murder first degree – premeditated, weapons – discharge from a vehicle causing death, tampering with evidence – Criminal case punishable by more than 10 years, and three counts of felony firearm. Jones was remanded to jail without bond and is scheduled to appear back at the 18th District Court for a probable cause conference on Thursday, June 18th.

Sarah Jean Jones-Moody, a 17-years-old, of Wayne, was also arrested on Monday June 8th. Jones-Moody was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Cicirelli on charges including; accessory after the fact to a felony, and felony firearm. Jones-Moody was given a bond of $75,000 – 10%, and will be required to be fitted with a GPS tether if bonded. Sarah Jones-Moody is scheduled to appear back at the 18th District Court for a probable cause conference on Thursday, June 18th.

Timothy Dywerr Stevenson Jr, a 19 year old resident of Detroit, was arrested on Monday, June 8th. Timothy Stevenson was arraigned in front of the Honorable Judge Cicirelli on charges including larceny from a person and tampering with evidence. Stevenson was assigned a bond of $20,000 cash and will be required to be fitted with a GPS tether if bonded. Stevenson is scheduled to appear back at the 18th District Court for a probable cause conference on Thursday, June 18th.
