Violence Continues to Plague Detroit with Non-fatal Shootings

DETROIT, MI – Three people were injured in 3 separate non-fatal shooting incidents overnight.

Detroit has its challenges. One of the more notable is that of innocent people being shot when they are at gatherings, walking down the street or while enjoying a city park.

The following shooting incidents were reported by Detroit Police:

On Tuesday June 16th, 2020, at approximately 9:10 p.m., in the area of E. Outer Dr. and Sunset, a 21 year old man was in the park when an unknown suspect fired shots, striking the man in the body. He as privately conveyed to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.

On Tuesday June 16th, 2020, at approximately 11:30 p.m., in the area of 7 Mile Rd. and Schaefer, a suspect approached a 22 year old man and attempted to rob him. As the victim began to run away, the suspect fired shots, striking the victim in the body.  He as privately conveyed to a local hospital and was listed in serious condition.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’10”, low haircut, last seen wearing a red/black Nike jacket, black jogging pants and black Timberlands.

On Wednesday June 17th, 2020, at approximately 1:40 a.m., in the 18500 block of Joseph Campau, a 33 year old woman was at a gathering when someone fired gunshots, striking her in the body. The victim was privately conveyed to a local hospital and listed temp. serious condition.
