Narcotics May be Factor in Eaton County Fatal Motorcycle Crash

LANSING, MI – On Sunday June 21st, 2020, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Troopers from the Michigan State Police Lansing Post were dispatched to the intersection of Charlotte Hwy and Eaton Hwy on the report of a motorcycle vs car traffic crash.

A man was riding his motorcycle traveling southbound of Charlotte Hwy and was approaching the intersection at Eaton Hwy. The motorcyclist had the right of way and was proceeding to turn into the intersection when a female driver traveling westbound on Eaton Hwy failed to stop at the intersection as it is posted by a stop sign. The motorcycle slammed into the side of the woman’s vehicle, commonly known as T-bone crash.

Life saving efforts were made at the scene of the crash of the driver of the motorcycle suffered fatal injuries.

The female driver of the car was not injured.

The identity of the motorcyclist is not being released at this time pending notification of family.

The preliminary investigation indicates that narcotics may be a factor in the crash.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Eaton County Sheriff’s Department, Lansing Police Department, Roxand Township Fire/EMS and Grand Ledge Fire/EMS
