Suspect Commits Suicide after Attempted Murder in Cadillac area

HOWELL, MI – Michigan State Police Troopers along with other law enforcement agencies are investigating an apparent suicide of an attempted homicide suspect in the City of Howell after they ended a vehicle pursuit with a PIT maneuver.

This morning at approximately 9:20 am, MSP and other law enforcement agencies located a suspect vehicle after a B.O.L. was broadcast of a suspect believed to be involved in an attempted homicide in the Cadillac area that was being investigated by the Cadillac Police Department.

Police located the suspect vehicle in Clinton County on south bound US-127 and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit went into Livingston County where Livingston County Sheriff’s Department joined the pursuit and a PIT maneuver was utilized by police.

The suspect vehicle came to rest on M-59 just east off Curzon Court in the City of Howell. The 41-year-old man exited his vehicle, walked towards the side of the road where he then shot and killed himself.

No other individuals were involved and no police officers were injured. The investigation is on going by multiple police agencies.
