ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, MI – On Sunday June 28th , 2020, at 7:06 a.m., the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office along with the Robinson Township Fire responded to a motorcycle traffic crash on Lake Michigan Dr. and M231 in Robinson Township.
Upon arrival responding units located a 2009 Black Honda Motorcycle on the South side of the intersection 25 yards off the roadway. The 56-yr-old operator of the motorcycle was thrown from the motorcycle and received fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation shows that the motorcycle was southbound on M231, went through the intersection at Lake Michigan Dr and drove off the south side of the roadway. The crash appears to have occurred during the early morning hours of June 28th. The crash scene is not visible from the roadway. The driver was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The crash remains under investigation.
