DETROIT, MI – A 33-year-old Detroit man is now facing murder charges along with robbery charges in the theft of Cartier glasses that took place on the west side of the city on Friday June 19th, 2020.
Gary Mandell Holt, 33-years-old, of Detroit, has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Frank Brown, IV, also of Detroit.
On June 19, 2020 at approximately 6:50 p.m., Detroit police were dispatched to the 14600 block of Asbury Park in response to call about a shooting. Upon arrival, the officers found the victim in the driveway of his residence, with obvious injuries. Medics arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was found to be dead on arrival.
It is alleged Gary Holt drove past the driveway, made a U-turn and stopped in front of the Asbury Park residence. It is also alleged the defendant Holt walked up to the victim and shot him twice before taking the white Cartier glasses he was wearing. It is then alleged that he the fled the location.
Gary Holt has been charged with First Degree Murder, Felony Murder, Armed Robbery, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm. On June 28th, 2020, the defendant was arraigned out-county in 34th District Court in Romulus.
