Hail of Bullets Kills 26 yr old Pontiac Man

PONTIAC, MI – On Saturday June 27th, 2020, at 7:21 p.m., Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Waterford Regional Fire Department, and Star EMS were dispatched to the 40th block of Ridgemont Street on a report of a shooting.

Upon their arrival, the 26-year-old victim, of Pontiac, was located lying in the parking lot. Paramedics provided telemetry to McLaren Oakland Hospital where a physician pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Deputies received an anonymous tip the shooter entered an apartment in the 60th block of Ridgemont St. Deputies made contact with the apartment complex manager and were able to review the complex security video footage.

The footage captured the shooting and the 23-year-old shooter, of Pontiac, was seen entering an apartment in the area given by the anonymous tipster. Deputies responded to the apartment and made contact with the suspect. Deputies took him into custody along with several other subjects who were present at the time of the shooting. The apartment was searched, and four pistols were recovered.

Detectives, an Investigator from the OCSO Forensic Science Laboratory,  and an Investigator from the Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and began their investigations. Thirteen 9mm shell casings and several spent rounds were collected at the scene.

The body of the 26-year-old victim was transported by Deputies to the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office. The suspect was lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending issuance of criminal charges.
