Mexican Fiesta Closing Dine-in Service Again due Rude Customers and COVID-19

Mexican-Fiesta restaurant Dearborn Heights

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI – Mexican Fiesta, one of the very best places in all of the Detroit metro area to eat Mexican food, has made the decision to close their dine-in service for a second time during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision to close the dine-in service portion of the iconic restaurant is based on customers being rude, refusing to wear a mask while inside of the building. Management of Mexican Fiesta are trying to keep the customers and staff safe during this world wide pandemic.

The restaurant posted to social media the following:

It is with heavy heart that we must inform you that tomorrow Monday June 29th, we will be closing out dine in service and returning to only carry out service. Unfortunately there were multiple situations where our staff was disrespected and treated rudely. The safety of our customers and staff is our number one priority so we have made the tough decision to close our doors to the general public until further notice.

Moving forward we will be strictly carryout and will keep you posted regarding our dining service. Stay safe and please remember we’re all in this together.

Mucho amor
Mexican Fiesta Dearborn Family

It was only two short weeks ago management had resumed dine-in service. On June 6th they had posted to social media to let the public know that they would be opening their dine-in service on June 15th.

“Amigos, thank you for the incredible support during these difficult times. We can’t express enough our gratitude for each and everyone of you! We’re in the process of training our staff as we plan on opening our dine in June 15th! Thank you for your patience, looking forward to seeing everyone soon!”

We know this had to be a very difficult decision to make but in light of what took place with the customers and staff, it will be the right path to take. Knowing the loyal following that Mexican Fiesta has, they will weather this storm with true grace.

I personally have been a loyal foodie of theirs for well over 25 years now. It has not mattered if it were associate, close friends and even family that I have had as guests in this restaurant, everyone one of them have left with the very same first impression that I did back in 1990 when my dear friend Chuck introduced me to this experience. There is only one word for it ‘Outstanding !’

We will be seeing you soon to pickup some of the most incredible beef and cheese enchiladas I have ever tasted in my life.
