DETROIT, MI – Terrance Anthony Moorlet, 37-years-old, of Saginaw and Jermaine Antonio Small, 40-years-old, of Detroit, have been charged in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a man who is also from Detroit. The age of the victim is not known at this time.
On Monday June 8th, 2020, at approximately 12:25 a.m., the victim was traveling eastbound on Harper Avenue. As he approached Berkshire Street, another vehicle, also traveling eastbound on Harper Avenue, passed him. It is alleged that the passenger in the second vehicle fired shots into the victim’s vehicle, striking him. The victim drove himself to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. An investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of Terrance Moorlet and Jermaine Small.
Further information will be placed on the record in court during the Preliminary Examination.
Moorlet and Small have each been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder and Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm. Moorlet is also charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and three counts of Felony Firearm.
Based on records from the Michigan Department of Corrections, Jermaine Small has an extensive criminal record that dates back to 2001.
Moorlet and Small are expected to be arraigned Thursday morning after 10:00 a.m. in 36th District Court.
