ORION TOWNSHIP, MI - On July 1st, 2020, Oakland County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to Chipotle at 4921 S. Baldwin Road, in Orion Township, at approximately 6:00 p.m., for numerous calls related to threats.
Both parties involved in this incident had called Dispatch on each other related to threats involving a firearm as well as physical violence. Reports to Dispatch indicated a man and a woman, both armed with firearms, had been pointing the weapons at three females.
The preliminary findings have shown this began over one of the parties bumping into the other while entering and exiting Chipotle. The man and woman, Jillian Wuestenberg, 32-years-old and husband Eric Wuestenberg, 42-years-old resident, both of Clarkston, claimed to fear for their lives over threatening comments made to them and their vehicle being struck with a hand by the other party. The other parties said the couple threatened them with firearms.
The Wuestenberg's who had pointed firearms at the other individuals drove away from the scene and waited for Deputies to arrive. Upon arrival, Deputies began to investigate, and this resulted in Deputies confiscating both firearms, which were held as evidence. The couple were both current Concealed Pistol License holders. At the time of the incident, it was not clear who the aggressor was and the individuals who pulled the firearms claimed to fear for their life and Deputies on the scene could not determine whether or not this was a case of self-defense or not without further investigation.
After further investigation today, the completed investigative package was presented to the prosecutor for review and determination. The Oakland County Prosecutor reviewed the investigation and reviewed all footage. The Wuestenberg's were each charged with (1) count of Felonious Assault, which is a 4-year Felony. Both individuals were taken into custody by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Jillian Deanne Wuestenberg, a 32-year-old female resident of Clarkston and Eric Peter Wuestenberg, a 42-year-old resident of Clarkston were both arraigned today at 52-3 District Court in front of Magistrate Marie Soma.
They were each charged with (1) Count of Felonious Assault which is a 4-year Felony. Both were give $50,000 personal bond. The next hearing for both will be a Probable Cause Conference before the Honorable Judge Julie Nicholson on July 14th.
As part of the bond conditions, they must turn over all firearms, not engage in any assaultive behavior, and may not leave the state.
