LARKIN TOWNSHIP, MI – The Midland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two vehicle traffic crash that claimed the life of Maryellen Walker, a 29 year old Mills Township woman.
The incident occurred on Waldo Road north of Monroe Road in Larkin Township at approximately 12:57 pm on July 5th, 2020.
The investigation indicates that the driver of a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, David Rousseau, 30-years-old, was driving southbound on Waldo Road. He was following a mini-van, also southbound on Waldo Road which was turning eastbound on Monroe Road.
At that moment, a 2019 Chevy pick-up truck driven by Dorothy Robbins, an 82 year old woman from Auburn, MI, was eastbound on Monroe Road and stopped at the intersection when she continued eastbound on Monroe Road. The Harley-Davidson motorcycle began to pass the mini-van near the intersection and collided into the driver side of the 2019 Chevy pick-up truck.

David Rouseau was taken to the Mid-Michigan Medical Center with serious injuries.
Dorothy Robbins was wearing her seatbelt and the airbags did deploy. She was not injured.
The incident remains under investigation. While there is no evidence to indicate that alcohol or drugs may have been a factor in this crash, they are waiting for toxicology reports for a final determination. Once the investigation is complete, a report will be sent to the Midland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
