HAMTRAMCK, MI – Zijad Talic, 41-years-old, of Hamtramck, has been charged in connection with makes threats towards Judge Alexis Krot of 31st District Court.
On July 1st, 2020, it is alleged that Talic, while in Hamtramck, made death threats regarding Judge Krot via texts to a third party. At the time of the threats Judge Krot was presiding over a case where Talic is charged with Felonious Assault and Assault and Battery of a man from Hamtramck.
The Hamtramck Police Department received the information about the threats and conducted an investigation leading to Talic. On July 2nd, 2020, it is alleged that when the officers tried to arrest Zijad Talic, he fled in his car and attempted to elude them by not stopping his car and committing traffic violations. He eventually stopped and was placed under arrest the same day. The more complete facts and evidence in the case will be presented on the record in court.
Talic has been charged with one count each of Threat of Terrorism, Obstruction of Justice, Fleeing and Eluding Third Degree and Malicious Use of a Telecommunication Device.
Judge Krot has recused herself from hearing Talic’s cases.
He is expected to be arraigned today in 17th District Court in Redford Township at 9:00 a.m.
